Dr. Greg Nutt

Dr. Greg Nutt

Dr. Greg, co-owner of Riverstone Animal Hospital, opened the practice in 2002. He is a graduate of Oklahoma State University in 1996. He is affiliated with the AVMA and Veterinary Honor Society and has completed continuing education hours in rabbit and exotic pet care. His veterinary career path began at a young age, when he and his family bred beagles and rabbits. This experience showed him the importance of the bond that people have with their pets and fastened his resolve to make caring for pets a career.

As a veterinarian, he enjoys sharing his love for his pets with the team and supporting the mission of serving pets and their owners. One of his favorite aspects of his position is witnessing the love that pet owners have for their pets and being able to give these owners healthier family members. He also looks forward to forming relationships and friendships with the people he sees. He goes the extra mile to provide his clients and patients with exceptional care, taking the time to sit on the floor with his them to get to know them while listening to his clients' needs.

Dr. Greg is married to Dr. Simone Nutt, his partner at the hospital, whom he met in college in California. Together, they have three four-legged family members. Beatrice the Beagle, who is Dr Greg’s favorite, Spud the Boston Terrier, and Banjo the cat who was rescued from RAH as a kitten. When he's not caring for pets at Riverstone, he enjoys fishing, kayaking, reading, gardening, camping, and spending time with his family. Although he is passionate about being a veterinarian and helping pets become well, his greatest accomplishment is being a great father.

Dr. Simone Nutt

Dr. Simone Nutt

Dr. Simone is the other half of the husband-wife team at Riverstone Animal Hospital. She graduated from Oklahoma State University and completed continuing education hours in feline medicine, internal medicine, ultrasound, endoscopy, and dentistry. The most notable moment of her career has been realizing the impact that veterinarians can have in enriching the lives of people. She has seen how valuable it is to her clients to find someone who truly listens and cares about how they feel about their pet and someone they can trust with their pet.

With a strong interest in medicine and working to eliminate pain and illness, Dr. Simone considers it an honor to care for pet family members. She also loves being able to work with great pet care team members who share her passion of helping the community care for their pets. As a veterinarian, she welcomes the variety that each day brings and investing in people's lives and form relationships. She loves seeing people every day who love their pets the way she does. One of her many goals is to truly find out what each owner's concerns and goals are and working with them in accomplishing those goals, rather than just treating each pet and client the same way.

Dr. Simone had the privilege of marrying her soul mate, Dr. Greg, and opening the practice with him. Together, they have three pets: A Beagle, a Boston Terrier, and a cat who rules over the dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys horse back riding, kayaking with her husband, reading, serving at her church, and camping with her family. She also loves reading the Bible and considers it a source of joy, as it never fails to be relevant to her daily life.

Dr. Ashley Ballew

Dr. Ashley Ballew

Dr. Ashley joined the Riverstone team in April 2015. She graduated from the Berry College in 2009 for her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, and from the University of Georgia in 2013 with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. During vet school, she focused on exotic animals, and she loves the unique challenges and fun experiences that reptiles and pocket pets present. She also enjoys partnering with clients in education, especially focusing on animal behavior and helping others to understand their pets’ behavior to avoid problems in the future. She also focuses on heart disease and offers screening echocardiograms (heart ultrasounds).

Dr. Ashley grew up in Georgia and currently lives in Woodstock with her husband and her three dogs, a mix named Zelda, a greyhound named Beckett, and a mix named Artemis. She also grew up with lots of furry friends including guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, and chinchillas. In her spare time she enjoys gardening and traveling to new places.

Dr. Geoff Landau

Dr. Geoff Landau

Dr. Geoff joined our team at Riverstone Animal Hospital in 2024 but has been practicing veterinary medicine in Cherokee County since 2015. He earned his undergraduate and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degrees from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL (Go Gators). He is very passionate about client communication and education and loves being able to help teach families about veterinary medicine. He thinks it is equally important to bring your pet in for regular wellness visits as it is for sick visits. This way we build a relationship, establish trust, and catch diseases earlier to help pets live longer. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but especially likes difficult to diagnose problems (internal medicine), dentistry, and performing ultrasounds.

Dr. Geoff is a husband and a father to his wife and 3 kids. He also has two dogs: Piper - a mixed breed rescue, Auggie - a Bernese Mountain Dog, and a cat named Georgia. When he is not working, Dr. Geoff strives to be the best dad possible and enjoys spending his free time with his family. He loves being outside and playing sports with his kids, hiking, fishing, swimming, etc. He is an avid college sports fan and is ready to talk about any college sport.
