Veterinarian, DVM
Dr. Simone was born and raised in Germany and moved to the United States with her military family in 1987. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with honors from California State University in 1991. In 1993 she joined her fiancé Greg in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to attend Oklahoma State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She received her DVM degree with highest honors in 1997. During school she completed internships in internal medicine, equine medicine, and equine reproduction.
After graduation Dr. Simone joined a multi-doctor small animal practice in Northern California. She received further training in internal medicine, endoscopy, and emergency medicine. In 2000 she relocated to North Georgia with her husband and infant son and practiced at a small animal and exotics practice in Cumming until 2003. In 2002 she and her husband opened Riverstone Animal Hospital.
Dr. Simone’s special interests include internal medicine, feline medicine, dentistry, and preventative medicine. She is pursuing special training in Ultrasound and radiology. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, the veterinary honor society Phi Zeta, and the national honor society Phi Kappa Phi.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, gardening, and horseback riding.
Drs. Greg and Simone have been married since 1994 and have two children, Nicolas and Juliana, born in 1999 and 2003. Their family also includes a rescued Dalmatian named Sara, a cat named Banjo, and about 15 pet fish. They live near Ball Ground, GA, and enjoy spending time with their children, as well as outdoor family activities such as swimming, camping, and hiking.
